Because of Coronovirus restrictions it is still difficult to arrange indoor meetings. Instead we have decided to concentrate on outdoor and surveying activities.

A meeting is planned for July 22nd at Llanymynech Rocks nature reserve at 6.30pm. It will be led by Celia Todd who was a voluntary warden there for many years. As well as a much awaited chance to get together we will look at how to identify plants, so please bring a field guide if you have one.

Numbers will be limited so if you would like to attend please email Polly Smith at polly.j.smith@hotmail.co.uk and further information will be given.

Coronavirus Update

All indoor meetings are CANCELLED until further notice.

2021 Survey

We will be doing the Lapwing and Curlew survey again this year but because of the current lockdown it will have to be done a little differently again.   If you feel able to then I will send you maps of allocated squares and you can survey one or more squares as before. I realise that under current restrictions this may not always be possible but we still urgently need as many records as possible of any signs of breeding,  so casual records would be very welcome. All communication will be by email or post. If you would like to take part please email celia.todd@btinternet.com or phone 01691 652181 and Celia will send you all the information you need.

Who we are & What we do

About us

The 3 Parishes Community Wildlife Group covers the parishes of  Gobowen & Selattyn, Weston Rhyn and St. Martins. It was formed in late 2016 to provide a forum for people living in the parishes to meet, learn and contribute to local wildlife conservation.

The group meets monthly, rotating between venues in the 3 parishes, to hear speakers talking on subjects of wildlife interest.

Activities & Achievements

See the map below for the area covered by the 3 Parishes group. It covers the parishes of St. Martins, Westn Rhyn and Gobowen/Selattyn plus small extra areas. A surveyor is asked to cover one or more square and report sightings on three visits in April, May and June.

Annual Surveys

We have taken part in the Curlew and Lapwing survey for the past 3 years and intend to carry on with it. The 2020 survey is complete and available for viewing/download below.
