SPOTLIGHT ON THE WOOD WHITE BUTTERFLY – MORTIMER FOREST HERITAGE PROJECT

Would you be interested in taking part in an exciting and varied Heritage Project in Mortimer Forest?

West Midlands Butterfly Conservation and Woods for Wellbeing are currently applying to the Heritage Lottery Fund and are looking for people who are interested in learning about how to survey and monitor the wildlife at Mortimer and who would like to contribute to researching Mortimer Forest heritage and sharing it with the Ludlow community.

Training will be given in a variety of conservation skills including surveying and monitoring of the rare Wood White butterfly. Enthusiasm and commitment is much more important than experience.

At this stage we are just trying to get an idea of the level of interest in the project, so no one is expected to commit to anything but if you are interested, contacting me now will give you priority choice about taking part if and when the funding is granted. We are particularly keen to hear from you if you are living and/or working in the Ludlow area.
