Throughout the country various events are being held to raise awareness of swifts, their incredible life history, and their decline by 68% in the past 30 years. On 1 July 2026 Julie Cowley will be giving a presentation on swifts at All Stretton Village Hall, starting at 7.30pm. The talk will be followed by a 30-minute film ‘The Other Taylor Swift’ about Louise Bentley who has been dedicating her summers to the rehabilitation of exhausted and injured adult swifts and young swiftlets after they have fallen from the nest site. This is a free event but donations to the Swifts in the Strettons project are welcome. Refreshments will be provided for a small charge. All are welcome.
