Are you interested in birds? Would you like to learn more about them and how to identify the different species found in Shropshire’s habitats through the year?
If so, why not take this course? It meets roughly twice monthly (December excepted) from September 2021 to June 2022. The first session is indoors on a Tuesday evening (at the National Trust’s Chalet Pavilion in Cardingmill Valley) where a dual screen presentation will introduce the birds expected on a field excursion on a following Sunday morning. You will accumulate expertise as the course progresses by building on the principles covered in previous sessions.
The course leaders are Dave Pearce, Allan Heath and John Arnfield and it is sponsored by the Church Stretton branch of the Shropshire Ornithological Society and the National Trust (CMV and Shropshire Hills). The fee for the 16 sessions (half indoors, half outdoors) is £95, payable in advance.
If you would like more information about the course and learn how to sign up, you can contact John Arnfield (01694 724 170 or by email at arnfield.2@osu.edu) or you can visit our website at introbirdcourse.wordpress.com,where meeting dates and topics are listed and a downloadable form is available to join the course.
